Become a NEARN AMBASSADOR

Every NEARN Ambassador is an advocate in the fight against Elder Abuse in Northumberland County, its communities and society. As a NEARN Ambassador, you will have a meaningful opportunity to help ensure a better, safer future for your mom, your father-in-law, your big brother, the neighbour across the street, and any other older person you know. Helping NEARN will also ensure a better future for you, and one day, for your children too.

We need you to work with us to bring safety, protection and respect to every one of our elder adults and:

• support a cause in which you truly believe
• share your skills and talents
• gain significant knowledge and experience
• meet new and interesting people and forge new friendships
• challenge yourself and grow personally
• give back to your community, your friends and your family
  

Our growing group of NEARN Ambassadors is involved in many aspects of our vital work, including:

• fundraising
• connecting people with the services they need
• administrative tasks (such as answering crisis phones and processing donations)
• advocacy (sending letters to politicians)
• leadership roles (Board and committee membership)
• information dissemination
• Recruiting more Ambassadors
